We are in search of an Accounting Manager who will report directly to the CFO. You will oversee all our accounting operations, supervise an Accounting Clerk, and work closely with our Operations team to support our Engineering project managers and the Management team.

At Sunrise we’re working on groundbreaking, life-changing medical devices and we are in search of an Accounting Manager who will report directly to the CFO. You will oversee all our accounting operations, supervise an Accounting Clerk, and work closely with our Operations team to support our Engineering project managers and the Management team.

Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department including:

  • Ensuring that our general ledger is accurate and GAAP compliant and producing accurate and timely financial statements
  • Monthly and annual financial close process, including ensuring the accuracy of journal entries, performing account balance reconciliations, identifying and correcting errors, and preparing financial statements
  • Preparing, entering, and supplying supporting documentation for journal entries, including payroll, accruals, and reserves
  • Updating weekly management dashboards
  • Providing direction and support to the Accounting Clerk
  • Recommending, implementing, and maintaining appropriate internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure the accuracy of corporate financial data
  • Leading A/P, A/P, and Customer Billing processes
  • Drive monthly forecasting process – providing management with key analytics and metrics
  • Coordinate Annual Budget cycle

Project Financial Management support

  • A significant part of the position involves meticulously tracking all financial transactions associated with each of our projects, including purchase orders, change orders, invoices, project expenditures, WIP, and more
  • Working with Project Financial Analyst to prepare detailed weekly project financial reports and maintaining highly accurate project financial records
  • Producing ad-hoc project financial reports that clearly present information to our project managers and clients. Knowing how to present information so that it can be clearly understood is essential.
  • Collaborate with Project Financial Analyst to create meaningful, consistent project reporting helping to drive senior management business decisions

Payroll

  • Responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll with the assistance of HR
  • Preparing payroll-related reports as required
  • Reconciling payroll journal entries, budgets, and P&L

Tax, Compliance, and Auditing

  • Responsible for the timely filing of all Federal, State, and Local filings and payments
  • Leading our annual external audit support efforts and working closely with our auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
  • Primary external auditor contact, responsible for preparing all reports and schedules they may need
  • Working with our R&D tax credit consultants to prepare supporting documentation for R&D tax credit applications

We’re looking for:

  • A self-starter who is highly flexible, accommodating, and easy to work with. We need someone who is not tied to old-school paper-based accounting processes.  
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and 5+ years’ experience with progressively responsible financial roles focused on accounting, financial analysis, and reporting. 2+ years of managerial experience
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
  • Strong aptitude for learning and working with software programs, financial systems, and databases
  • A creative problem solver who can continually improve our processes to automate manual data entry and move away from paper-driven processes to virtual and cloud-based processes
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, and especially pivot tables and database queries such as Vlookups, is essential to the position, as well as the ability to work with very large data sets
  • Working knowledge of federal and state tax and compliance requirements and regulations
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining a high sense of confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a passion for accuracy

At Sunrise we’re working on groundbreaking, life-changing medical devices and we are in search of an Operations Specialist.

At Sunrise your responsibilities will be:

Purchasing:

  • Support client programs by purchasing materials and services, creating purchase orders, maintaining purchasing and vendor records, sourcing parts, requesting quotes, and providing bill of materials support to project design teams
  • Manage vendor relationships, perform vendor qualification and onboarding, and complete vendor credit applications
  • Provide reporting on purchasing metrics to Management and Project Managers, including communicating material delays and shortages
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable to track vendor purchase orders through receipt and payment, and troubleshoot any invoice discrepancies
  • Manage shipping and receiving of all packages and ensure that accurate records are maintained

Facilities Related:

  • Serve as the point of contact for facility vendors and for reported facility issues and follow up to ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner
  • Assist with building improvement projects
  • Support facilities operations at both Sunrise locations and maintain the inventory of office, kitchen, and IT supplies
  • Arrange for catering for company and client meetings

Corporate Related:

  • Support Project Finance by helping to maintain accurate time and expense records for client programs
  • Assist with client program onboarding tasks
  • Manage Insurance policies, Software licenses, 
  • Participate in forecasting and planning of Operations related expenses
  • Undertake various other responsibilities and projects as specified by Leadership

Requirements We’ll look for:

  • A minimum of 2+  years of experience in Operations Support or Purchasing
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in purchasing, facilities, or operations
  • An individual who can organize resources, work under tight deadlines, manage their own priorities, and shift focus among varied responsibilities
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with careful attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize based on company needs
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy change, and are stress-resilient
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong math, computer, and internet skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience maintaining and organizing data using spreadsheet software such as MS Excel and Google Sheets
